Almost none of our contract negotiations are done in person, but we find we get faster results when we prioritise face time. This avoids keyboard warrior tendencies and misunderstandings. Prepare and pre-send a neatly set out, easy to understand departure schedule. In the cover email, provide a concise list of the issues the departures cover, so the parties can anticipate the topics that will be discussed. Then request a time to meet on Teams/Zoom to discuss. We use this cover email: "Hi [builder], Attached is our departure schedule. It might look like a long list, but the bulk relate to a handful of issues: - insurances - EOTs/LDs/Delays - etc Once we agree we'll close out multiple at a time. Is Monday a good day to catch up on Teams?"
