I spend a fair amount of time traveling to work and meetings on public transport these days and I keep abreast with the latest news and updates on my favorite topics via online forums and news feeds. It is a great use of time and allows me to learn on the go. For specific topics and areas of interest, I drill down by doing more research or meeting up with one of my contacts to understand better via zoom or coffee sessions.

Join Online Communities for tech discussions and updates. Subscribe to Newsletters from nonprofit tech blogs. Test New Tools regularly to assess their benefits.

One of my favorite ways to stay current with industry and technology trends is by joining LinkedIn groups and actively engaging in discussions. I've gained so many valuable tips and tricks from the insights shared by others in these groups. I’ve also found Discord and Slack communities to be excellent for more interactive learning. For instance, I recently started using Buffer for social media management, and their Discord community has been a great resource for getting up to speed. Another great resource for continuous learning? Podcasts! They're perfect for diving into topics where my helping me expand my knowledge in areas where I have limited experience.

This part demands that as a nonprofit tech enthusiast you need to know that primary contact should be able to meet your day to say and then give nonprofit tech a boost, contribute without expecting anything in return but when it come you don't reject, you would embrace, because you just opened your own oil well. Because once you are voice there connection and accolades that follows it. That is not you desire when start. You desire is to be the change you want to see. The partnership will come when the feedback you get is positive.

The nonprofit employees I know are carrying a heavy load. They don't have the luxury of time to browse, read, scroll or attend conferences. It's critical for leadership to make it a priority. Provide staff with an annual allowance for learning. Make it an expectation that every staff person is expected to share one new learning or technology s/he discovered the previous week. Create a culture of curiosity.

There are a ton of free courses out there and some that have a small cost for nonprofit employees. I know most nonprofit employees have a lot on their plates but by dedicating 15 to 30 minutes a day to learning can make a big impact over time. There are also plenty of newsletters on dozens of topics that you can subscribe to in order to stay in the loop. It is easy to skim a newsletter during your commute or in the morning over coffee. Making continuous learning a part of your routine will make it easier to adopt.

Learning can also mean maximizing your current offerings. Do your service providers provide more training for you? Can you get your client relationship people to set aside some time for a deepdive? Look for these kinds of opportunities to make sure that your non-profit's resources are not overstretched on the promises of technology.

By partnership - this could mean outsource. But outsource with a sense of strategy - and partnership is really the right way to look at it.

Encouraging teams to experiment with new tools and adopt creative thinking can turn challenges into opportunities.
