The New Age consumer needs service quality ,speed ,and a right to give feedback and engage with the product or service. The infrastructure needs to take the enhanced role of consumer in to account now more than ever

All of this plus: clearly document what the problem is/why change is needed, the rationale for urgency (if timing is aggressive) and high level timing/milestones. These decisions will be critical elements of communication.

I’ve not read a great deal about benefit realisation anywhere. In my experience the end user and stakeholders don’t necessarily care about what the change is, more so how will it benefit the end user? So many projects/changes etc get implemented and we move onto the next. We don’t stop to measure and report and conduct enough due diligence around the benefit realisation…just, ‘right, onto the next thing…’

When rolling out new technology, I’ve always found it best to release things in small chunks, that way problems can be isolated and found much faster - and always be ready to “roll back” to earlier versions (if possible). This is why Test / QA teams are some of the most important functions of any rollout - a good QA team, with thousands (I’m kidding, maybe a few hundred) test cases will be able to thoroughly test new deployments before issues arise in Live / Production environments.
