Find common ground by emphasizing shared goals and working together. Finally, follow up to ensure clarity and prevent further confusion. This approach fosters open communication, trust, and a collaborative path forward.

Life is full of transitions, both good and bad, and they often bring up strong emotions. Even positive transitions can be challenging. And hence it’s important to start by acknowledging these emotions, understating that they may cause confusion amongst stakeholders. As a coach, I use open-ended questions to explore my client's perspective and introduce new viewpoints that can support their growth. Being non-judgmental is essential to avoid blame and keep the focus on finding common ground, which helps de-escalate misunderstandings. I do my best to maintain empathy and urge client to find effective solutions that resolve misunderstandings, if any and make transitions smoother.
