Clear vision and understanding of change will help us realize the right strategic decisions. With change, it is tricky as you will deal with lots of ad hocs and unplanned challenges. You may deviate from your vision for a bit but if your vision is clear, you will soon return to it applying your strategic decisions even more effectively.

It takes a long time to adjust deeply ingrained reflexes. One issue I have observed with culture change communication is the risk of segregating "culture" messages from "business as usual" messages. If all the old cultural values, assumptions and incentives remain unchanged in communications that aren't explicitly designed to encourage culture change, your culture comms will be drowned out. Because your culture has not changed. The big challenge is to ensure that every single message - formal, informal, written and spoken - is given with the new culture in mind.

6 Sustain Gains

Finally, to ensure that your culture change sticks, you need to sustain the gains you've made. This involves reinforcing new behaviors and practices until they become second nature within your organization.
