Ensuring everybody participates by expressing their opinion and through steering the debate towards constructive discussion there by concluding on applicable opinions given by the participants.

Setting ground rules and establishing a framework is Important, but more important is to enforce rules within the framework in an unbiased manner. The rules should not be a ground for rejection or neglect of an important and vital points of the participants.

I will also implore all participants to respect other participants opinion bearing in mind that there are different perspectives to viewing issues in other words just make your point without attacking and condemning others

While listening is important for that patience is very critical. Only by the patience you can bring out best debates. The level of patience is tested by you remaining calm when the other person does the exact opposite of what is correct & you know the exact right way but still you remain calm

Control of floor is possible only thro your wisdom & not by authority. The participants should acknowledge & respect your wisdom and obey your observations

Always the anchor should not pitch one participant with another thro his questions. There can be both direct & indirect questions. As a moderator you should bring back the directions of debate to the agenda

Sense the climate and try to understand the real pain of the person in front of you. The truth is not always as it seems, and you need to analyze very accurately the moments when you need to activate your feelings. On the other hand, the other person's need, that is, his pain, can complement yours.

At the end of the debate, close the discussion respectfully by thanking everyone involved for their participation, highlighting key points discussed, and reiterating the importance of mutual respect in future interactions.
