It is important have different options available for me slack works well for instant messaging, setting up different groups, you can also huddle, which is like zoom. When working on projects I have found ASANA to be effective, you can track projects, update project statues and communicate with comments, its also user friendly. The one thing I wouldn't do is have to many tools for teams to try manage, find a good tool that works for you and your team. We have the world of tools to explore.

We have used Monday.com and honestly, no better tool than that . It helps the entire team to focus on the tasks at hand, collaborate and be productive by focusing the communication around tasks and their completion. Results were impressive.

Two important keys to building team strength are RESPECT & TRUST. Many times, young project managers (fairly fresh out of college) want to believe they know best - because they went to college. The best tool, is not online. it's about YOU being a human and not treating the team like robots via an app. exercising empathy with what's going on with each individual in the team helps create trust even if it's a random beer over teams. The tool whatever you chose then just becomes a secondary item just to visualize easy where things are at without being too much of a micro manager. The type of tool you adopt doesn't really matter If you want to focus on tools, MS planner integrated with MS project is great. Alternatively look into float. Both tools need someone to drive adoption and provide a good framework that's intuitive.
