One thing I have found extremely useful is regular update presentations to the senior leadership team or steering group. It puts pressure to progress but it also allows to call for help to remove potential roadblocks and can prevent going in circles or worse, off-track.

In my experience to make sure an R&D project stays on track, some of the most important thing is to set clear goals and deadlines, talk often with your team, be flexible, and focus on what's most important. Also, encourage teamwork and new ideas to keep things moving smoothly.

In my experience, defining clear objective is of utmost importance. Breaking down the objective in smaller task & actioning the same, while maintaining thorough documentation at every step of project plan, progress till the objective is achieved. In addition Regular communication with team & management is important to improvise & analyse project throughout its process.

R& D project management required following things 1. Aim and objectives of the project should be very clear. 2. There should be time frame for overall project and also for each objective to achieve. 3. Proper budget allocation for reagents, instruments, man power, etc. 4. Major Objectives should be divided into small parts/objectives and that are monitored weekly, monthly to know progress or keep track of project. 5. Focus on one project at a time as handling multiple projects at a time (though possible) divert focus and may delay the projects. 6.
