I exercise daily, talk to colleagues, and learn from them when I need insight or advice. We must build our resources and tap into them to meet the high-stress work we all do.

I think it's important to stay grounded as a form of self-care. Often times when you find yourself under such a high pressure situation, it becomes easy to lose sight of reality and just be consumed by the stress of work. At these moments, it helps to take a momentary step back and divert your attention to other things. This brings back lost perspective and reminds you that failure has much less dire consequences than you've convinced yourself. This helps take some of the stress of your shoulder and allows you to relieve some of the pressure.

I exercise every morning and make sure I step away from my desk during the day to give my eyes and brain short rests, especially between files or calls. I also stick to my work schedule and log off when it’s time to log off. Many times I will exercise again after work, even if it’s not as intense as my morning workout, to help decompress and transition from my work day to my personal time. Making time for myself keeps me focused and energized and at my productive best.
