You need a very mature ITAM program. The ITAM program will have seven mature components: tools, processes, policies, communication, vendor management, a core team, and executive management support. The overall program maturity is at least a CMM Level 4 meaning process data provides feedback on the performance of the program. The feedback data must be complete. Achieving this type of maturity takes a significant amount of time and I personally have not seen such a program. However I have seen parts in many organizations.

Recuerdo que se tenia uno de los sistemas de procesamiento de data mas poderosos y versátiles de la actualidad, sin embargo no existía una política y procedimiento para la toma física de inventarios, cada área acéfala y entre plantas cada una realizaba de la manera que mas conviniera a sus intereses. Creo una política y procedimientos para la toma física de inventarios basado en las transacciones mas seguras y rápidas, aunado en que estaban bajo la norma ISO 9001. Lo cual permitió poder medir los resultados dado que estaban bajos los mimos lineamientos.

Esto metodología de trabajo facilitaba el trabajo a final para el cierre contable de cada periodo contable y del ejercicio contable.
