Encourage engagement by inviting input, asking questions, and rotating responses so multiple voices are heard. For example, rather than letting a few dominate, guide discussions with prompts like, “I’d like to hear thoughts from those who haven’t spoken yet.” This balances participation and keeps the group actively engaged.

One day i was given a large group of staff to engage in and i already exhausted my presentation and we had to wait for the next presenter to arrive. I used role plays, group discussion and buzzers to keep the team engaged through out the session. I also incorporated mentimeter to ask the team their feedback on the presentation and what they would do in line with the session. My presentations usually have short videos (less than 7 minutes) on the topic, which make the team engaged. At the end of the session i always have reflection questions.

Start with a clear agenda and stick to it. Break up the session with interactive elements like polls, Q&A segments, or small group discussions. Use visuals and engaging content to keep attention. Time management tools can help keep things on track. And always, always encourage participation. Energized people contribute more, and it keeps the session dynamic and flowing.
