With enough data, GIS gives you a holistic picture of the world, which helps you understand more about it and hence you can make better decisions with it. Urban planning, forestry planning, construction work and there could be lots of other applications depends on where you're at.

Mi experiencia con los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) en el contexto de organizaciones sin fines de lucro ha sido tremendamente enriquecedora, especialmente en proyectos colaborativos y de innovación. En una ocasión, trabajamos con varias organizaciones locales e internacionales en un proyecto de conservación de biodiversidad.
