In order to be somewhat of an expert on any one focus area you have to go at minimum 3 layers deep (Example: Security>Cyber Security>Network Security) and that just 1 pillar of 7 within Cyber Security. The only way you can truly stay up to date in this rapidly changing landscape is to have a group of trusted advisors that all focus on different disciplines that you'd consider strategically impactful to your business. In my opinion their truly is no alternative that is manageable in the long-term.

Always Be Learning. New technologies are coming fast & furious daily - determine broad trends by viewing blogs, industry mags & key social followings to get an understanding of the problems being solved, the methods used to solve them, and who the key players are that are working to solve them.

Online courses are a great way of continuing your education. Interactivity and gamification give you a direct sense of achievement that motivates you to keep at it. The biggest advantage, however, is that they are available 24/7, and you can easily fit them into your daily routine.

Webinars and podcasts have been booming since the pandemic. With webinars, I like the opportunity to ask questions directly. They are really good when they are not purely sales events. With podcasts, you can educate yourself on the side while you're doing kitchen work, for example, and many really pick up on current trends and help you keep your finger on the pulse.

Books are of course important to deepen your knowledge. However, if you're looking for the most up-to-date information, you're more likely to find it in blog articles or online magazines.

At hackathons and meetups, you learn together with others, have the opportunity to ask questions, express your opinion, and actively contribute. Nothing is more inspiring than a direct exchange with like-minded people.

The best way to stay ahead of the curve is seeking out the new disruptive technologies. The best way to do this is through discussion and collaboration with peers, pioneers, and the innovative people who are leading the way with their ideas. The people who are creating solutions to problems that we don't even know we have yet.

Many people associate the word "mentor" with an old, venerable, and wise person. In my experience, however, older people can also learn from younger ones. This is especially true in the software industry, which is so diverse and fast-paced that no one knows everything about every topic in detail.

Use the LLMs throughout the day to learn learn and learn some more for example “how does this tech apply to x or y or customers?” Ask the LLMs for examples, use cases, approaches and points of value.”

All of the above. Take it from a consultant and community leader with three decades of constant evolution. ? Realistically, there is no way to stay ahead of the curve. The field is so nuanced that while a person is catching up in one platform, the others are moving past you. The best one can do is keep an ear out on broad topics and investigate when there's clear and present reason to do so. In any case, don't nerd on folks for what they don't know. Geek out about ways you can add value, instead.

Follow influencers on social media - but take care the pick the right ones, as there are a lot of snake oil merchants online. Engage with expert networks, read research papers, follow free Ivy League university courses online (including on YouTube), jump into discussions to share your thoughts and learn from others.

To add to all the above - prioritize learning in areas of AI and ML, as they are transforming industries. Dive into cloud computing and understand different platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Explore developments in edge computing for real-time data processing. Keep an eye on blockchain for secure and decentralized solutions. Engage with the Internet of Things (IoT) to connect and manage devices efficiently. Lastly, understand the principles of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to enhance software development and deployment processes. Networking, attending tech conferences, and participating in online communities can also provide insights and opportunities to learn from leading experts in these fields.
