Watch for red flags in job listings such as "we're family" or "fast-paced" and "juggle competing priorities." Your job is never your family. The people you meet there may become friends like family, but a job will let you go to save their bottom line faster than Uncle Don eats corn dogs at the county fair! As far as fast-paced and competing priorities, being able to prioritize and use the Pareto Principle to choose which work to focus on to make an impact is beneficial, but there are only 24 hours in a day. It may be tempting to work 24/7 to get ahead in those types of organizations which is not so great for work-life balance.

I started a design group for women using social media and the only rule was to not ask each other to do work. The group was solely used as a safe space to share ideas, resources, and tips regarding the processes (intake, invoicing), and help each other establish better work-life balance amid different stages of our careers. One of the best ways to create a small network with deep benefits.
