Plus, you can always keep tabs on them through LinkedIn, staying updated on their insights and the latest news. Immersing yourself in their world is key to effective mentorship, and it's something you can start doing right now.

Defining goals is a crucial step but often it’s a chicken-and-egg situation. Finding a mentor can help with ideation and goal setting! It’s going to be important to be able to describe your intuition, and why you believe a web3 approach might be valuable for your business (idea).

There are a wide spectrum of technology, use cases for Web3 and it's important to have a mentor to guide you to an area that plays to your strength. Finding a quality Web3 peer group is equally as important if you are building a Web3 related business. That network of peers could translate to future clients, partners or investors down the line. You can also learn from one and another as everyone has their own Web3 speciality.

One thing I'd add is the importance of contributing as well. Sharing your own insights and experiences, even asking well-thought-out questions, can make you stand out. It turns you from a passive participant into someone who's actively adding value. This approach not only increases your visibility but can also attract potential mentors naturally, as they see your engagement and dedication to the space.

Once you learn the ropes yourself (to respect their time), you can reach out and have a nice chat. Repeat that five times, and you'll be somewhat ready to start interviewing people for real insights. This will not only educate you but might also land you business opportunities.

Follow people whose insight and contributions seem relevant and based in real world experience. Participate in X (Twitter) Spaces (search for your area of web3 interest), join a local association or meetup, attend conferences. You’ll meet amazing and generous people who will be happy to share insights. A word of caution, beware of charlatans and scammers. Stay away from folks who want your money.
