Toda leitura, n?o apenas para o Lean Manufacturing, é válida, pois uma forma de aprender é devorar livros, principalmente os best sellers daquela área que quer se desenvolver. Porém, se formos pegar o conceito da matriz de habilidades, onde 0 = n?o sabe, 1 = treinado, 2 = pratica com auxílio, 3 = pratica com autonomia e 4 = ensina, a leitura te levará ao nível 1 e te dará condi??es de praticar e se desenvolver, pois muitas vezes os cenários colocados nos livros n?o s?o um copiar e colar para sua realidade. Assim ter uma capacidade adquirida através de livros é importante, mas fazer com que isso vire prática através de colocar a m?o na massa é ainda mais!

The first thing one needs to do is to read about lean thinking. Understand lean philosophy. Then one should read other books to appreciate the tools used, the expected outcome and their interdependence. This means lean is not a bunch of tools but a management philosophy and change management initiative. The success lies in top management driven initiative in totality and not just implementing a few of the tools at workplace.

There are many books and literature available to make you understand the finer tips of the Lean Manufacturing. One book which inspired me in the very beginning was A REVOLUTION IN MANUFACTURING THE SMED WAY by SHIGEO SHINGO. Going thru' this book by me and my other colleagues made us understand the concept and the benefits.

Se o leitor for como eu que gosto de saber os fundamentos, será bem assistido com essas leituras. Jamais consegui em minha experiência engessar a metodologia. Lembrando que o Lean é uma filosofia de mindset. Ele nos dá as bases e para cada empresa, ou setor o que vale é a adaptabilidade à realidade.

In my experience, it is even more relevant to practice, first because you remember more from experience than from reading, and second, the learning process is more fun.

Read in a group setting, like a book club, and discuss every chapter, identify similar things that you are experiencing, and try to apply the concepts from the book into your real world. By doing that, you are not only learning the ideas but also seeing in real life if they work for you. By doing that, you are not only learning the idea but also seeing in real life if works for you.

My approach: if I decide a book is worth reading then it's worth creating reading guide notes. This bar applies to books on Lean or books on other aspects of Manufacturing or Business. I have a folder on my Drive w/ a document for each book I've read: when I read it (or re-read it), and a summary in chapter order of the points I found valuable, re-written in language that makes sense to me (this step also aids learning). This isn't a book outline: only points I find insightful & helpful. It's easy to search the Drive or doc to find keywords to locate a concept quickly for recall or implementation. My notes provide a way to easily find the section of the book so I can go back & re-read what I want to w/o wasting time flipping thru pages.

Pe?a ajuda das pessoas e explique que você gostaria de melhorar o dia a dia de trabalho delas. Jamais aplique técnicas sem esclarecer a todos o que você quer implantar. Planeje o passo a passo e aplique-os com sua equipe.

Even taking the help of some professionals to explain its implementation can also help to cut short some time. Hand holding for takeoff in the initial stage is a good idea and once you start tasting it's benefits, knowledge acquired from various books will take you to high level of performance.

Although Lean Manufacturing books can be useful, but they rarely help with the career growth, if you don't work on your and your team mindset. let me explain. You can find dozen of very useful tools to implement and address the losses in your factory. While it can be value added, however the readiness to face the resistance to a change from the team members is the main challenge you may need to address. The new way of working to implement Hoshin Kanri, to complete RCA and to challenge the ideas, is the core to change the mindset in you and your teams. So - read and learn Lean, but most importantly act and execute it.

Que tal, como aporte personal los libros son buenas guías pero debe de ir acompa?ado de la práctica, primero todos debemo de tener claro que Lean Manufacturing es una forma diferente de pensar y afrontar los retos que nos traen los procesos y por lo general siempre hay resistencia al cambio, debemos de vender bien a la operación porque?? se van aplicar los cambios y los beneficios que obtendremos como área, como departamento, como persona y como organización.
