Keeping team aware of goals and expectations will be best way to align them. Before we take any decisions brainstorming with subordinates and based on that discussion bring action plan will get everyone involved towards the goal. One thing that i've found helpful is that daily connect with the team is very important to know what each one is going through. It promotes collaboration, the team can share ideas and resolve issues. We also learn to support and trust each other. Working in silos within a team will restrict movement of knowledge and ideas thus negatively affecting growth.

Important in communication is to regularly inform the team about the team's performance in the context of clients and organizational objectives. Often transactional performance is shared with the team while service and business performance is shared up to leadership and out to clients. It is important for all team members to understand their contribution in a larger context. Also, employees need to understand their role beyond their designation and job description. While both are imperative, the nuances of the role are different even within the same designation and department. Frequent team meetings can help develop people to fit the role, and build future skills.

In service operations, where the landscape constantly shifts, clear and frequent communication is key. Setting a clear vision, maintaining regular updates, encouraging open dialogue, utilizing effective communication channels, fostering trust, and continuously improving ensures your team is aligned and motivated. In one scenario, I encouraged open dialogue in a customer service center. Despite high customer satisfaction, visit times were lengthy. Staff highlighted this and suggested a solution, which we implemented, reducing visit times. This culture of open dialogue and shared responsibility led to improved efficiency and satisfaction.

Building the process upon the company strategy and then letting the team follow the process the process can be built by coaching and collaborating with the team, you have to make sure that regular meetings and follow-ups to ensure the process has been followed, you repeat this with any new change or challenge.

Empowering the Service Operations team involves not just providing support, but also cultivating an environment where individuals feel valued, trusted, and encouraged to take ownership of their roles while knowing they have the support needed to excel.

Empathy, care and concern should be a component to build a strong social fabric of team and sustain to work together. While leader should start demonstrating these qualities and constantly observe team to integrate in their deliverables

In my eyes, the theory is very simple. Start listening your team. - Make sure : They're being valued. They are being appreciated. Most importantly they are being informed. If any organization ( managers ) have the above qualities then the results will be very positive and the employees will give their best more than company's expectation.

First, if you don't have the right team you will never truly unlock their potential. The fastest way to loose a good employee is to tolerate a bad one. That doesn't mean a "write up" each time take them for a walk or lunch and address the behavior if they can't adapt then document future issues and replace them with a better fit. Also listen to your team they will tell you the problems and then act on them. Recognition works like this, no employee should ever have to ask for a raise. If they do I am failing, I have either not recognized their work or not communicated to them their deficiencies. Teams are easy to make awesome, but it requires a lot of work on your part, but once they are great you reap the rewards.

Service operation is a function where people tend to face complaints only. There is no month end or month beginning. I was on vacation in a Goa beach and then there was a call. Next 45 minutes, I was on to it coordinating with different members. So there is burnout. In sales, you get a high when you score . In service very few client or customer will come back to appreciate. So important point is to keep the moral high, keep motivating, engaging with the team, appreciating little wins , standing by the team in a difficult time.

Huddles, every morning you have to be aligning goals and show them where they are, where they need to be, how to get there, coach on missed opportunities everyday, role plays and track progress. Motivation remains key to all of this and bring your team together let them feed on each other's energy more.

Teams have to trust each other. The breakdown of trust over a misunderstanding or if someone is offended has to be healed for a team to work well together. As long as the team has trust and you have chosen well who works on the team, your team will be unstoppable. Having regular team meetings that include team building activities, celebrations for the teams accomplishments and working as a team to remove roadblocks. All of these create trust and give the team a sense of unity. When your team shares the same vision they will be successful. Just don't let small setbacks create large issues. Open and honest communication is the key, it's okay to disagree and in fact it's the key to a highly successful team.
