I have seen that people relate to simple concepts ( aside from using SMART, RACI, and other tools). As Soccer/ Football is widely known and understood and me being a former Varsity & Semipro player in the US, I used to address the team by explaining that we can only have 1 Goalkeeper and that we need defenders, midfielders, and forwards. But ALL can contribute to Defend (our principles, ideas, projects, and clients) or Attack (with disruption, novelty, and synergy) This helped with many of the ALFA team members who wanted to give orders and move into an EGO fight. There is no room in my teams for that. TERE IS NO "I" in TEAM!

As stated before, using the Soccer Team basics: -Check and call when someone is "Offside" or doing something that is hurting, delaying, distracting or costing more to the team. -Keep it simple and pass the ball: Once you have and idea or concept, PASS IT TO THE TEAM and let them PLAY WITH IT and then GIVE IT BACK to you so you are in a better position to SCORE with your idea - NEVER JUDGE OR CRITIZE if a teammate tries a play and misses the shot. At that moment she/he did what was considered best and at least TRIED to SCORE. You have tried and missed many times as well... If we don't try to take a shot, how can we win? ALL ATTEMPTS ARE VALID!

One of the things I enjoy and promote the most in my teams is DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION. During my tenure as DOSM in MoBay Jamaica with Secrets Resorts back in 2016, we did an amazing PR Campaign for Groups and Incentives, offering an OUTREACH ACTIVITY during their group stay by providing an organized tour to a local city school for a day of painting and planting an orchard. The interaction was so positive with the local kids, the authorities, and the Group leaders and participants, that we took it to Los Cabos and afterward became a highlight in our MICE & SMERF programs.
