You're having trouble communicating with stakeholders. What can you do to improve?

Ideally, knowledge is useless if it cannot be transformed into action, and so those individuals and groups who identify as stakeholders in education are critical to the actions required to follow knowledge. In order to make the knowledge created and shared through education become truly effective, it is very important for those responsible for all forms of communication to be very intentional and clear. Regardless of whether the communication is for administrative or academic purposes, haphazard, inaccurate or unclear communication would mar outcomes especially when specific actions are required to follow knowledge or information disseminated. Purposeful or visionary communication is required for the value in education to be delivered

1. Active Listening- Practice active listening to understand their perspectives fully. 2. Clarify objectives and Expectations- Address any misunderstandings promptly. 3. Tailor communication styles 4. Provide regular updates- on milestones achieved 5. Seek feedback-Actively solicit feedback 6. Use Visual aids- Incorporate charts, graphs for complex information 7. Be proactive-proactively address any questions 8. Manage expectations-Be realistic 9. Build relationships-Invest time and effort 10. Continuous improvement- Adopt growth mindset

In education, the substance of trade is information and that is the primary reason communication has to be made effective. It is not enough for communication to be deliberate and clear about the purpose, the mode and channel of communication are very important. This is because the best of intent cannot be effective if taken through wrong mode. There is no other time than now, when Covid19 pushed everyone to the extreme and caused EdTech to discover the boundless means available to instructional designers. Right now, a multiple sources and modes of presentation allow diverse audience to benefit maximally from the same information when presented in various ways, to different means of access with social/individual peculiarities included.
