One does not do an “internship” in quality management. There is no way anyone would be ready after a brief preview of some of the work a quality manager maybe involved in to work as a quality manager, let alone grasp the entire scope of it. The number of skills one must command includes organizational management, psychology, statistics, project management, and operations knowledge. That is not something an intern would be ready for. Maybe work as an entry level Quality engineer to start. If I worked with someone who wanted to get into the profession and had the right attitude and understanding of it I would much more immediately embrace a person who is self aware, eager to learn and reflective well above a self-promoting sales person.
