The easiest , cheapest and most effective way is to keep tabs on competitors or similar companies that have more money and resources than you. They have probably put a lot of research and have a lot of data which has driven their strategy. Try and reverse engineer and work out what they have found and then adapt to your own company.

It's a simple strategy: - Always look at your competitors - it's okay if you hop on the same trend they do, they cannot call it copying and even if they do, it's all good as long as you do it better (haha) - Make a list of B2B companies with A-game in social media, follow them, see what they're doing, you'll get ideas. The only way to catch the trends is to be present, you fall behind when you get lazy (Trust me, if you get lazy, you miss out) And maybe hire someone who has massive FOMO for social media trends, and listen to them if they say you should do something because while B2B companies should act a certain way, bending the rulebook will only get you noticed (and all publicity is good publicity)

To catch up on B2B social media marketing trends and stay ahead, start by researching the latest trends and best practices. Follow industry leaders and relevant hashtags to gather insights on what’s working in B2B spaces. Revamp your content strategy to include a mix of educational resources, thought leadership pieces, and engaging visuals like infographics and videos. Utilize analytics tools to track performance and understand what resonates with your audience. Engage actively with your followers by responding to comments and joining industry conversations. Consider investing in paid social campaigns to boost reach and visibility.

- Make a list of 20 competitors or industry leaders in social media marketing. - Make a list of 20 influencers, some who have mid-tier(5k-10) following and some with high following(10k+). - Follow their posts and make summaries in a google doc weekly or fortnightly to update your knowledge.
-
Spend 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a week on 1-2 social platforms. You'll see the trends happening in front of your eyes. Don't just copy your competitors. Look at what you enjoy consuming from other industries and consider how you can incorporate that tactic/trend/style into your brand's content. Also, don't be scared to try something different and experiment with your social channels.
