In my opinion segregating emergency plans without some form of alignment between different emergencies puts a business at risk. Checking that control measures for one emergency plan are compatible with others is often something missed in design but will be critical in worst case scenarios. For example, it’s great to have an Incident Plan, with first aiders, first aid resources etc, but how does that work in the event of a fire at the same time, where someone is injured? Is the equipment still accessible and do people understand their duties. What happens if this occurs on a weekend of overtime, where there are few people on site, has this been considered?
