The first step is to understand the failure or frequency of failures which lead to the design change. This means before design change comes the steps to highlight the design failure which are Calculate MTTR, MMT, MTBF and MCBF. Consult your designer , you might be thinking it’s a design failure but in most cases the designers can introduce simple updates to resolve a problem. Once design failure is established, it must also be understood what is the nature of design failure. It can be minor failure, partial failure or complete system failure. What are the contributing factor which lead to this failure, if the system was a success in other cities of project what made it develop these faults in your project.

?Build strong relationships with multiple suppliers to create a “safety net” for unexpected hiccups. Implement a real-time tracking system to monitor deliveries and anticipate delays before they impact your project. Regularly review inventory levels and adjust procurement schedules accordingly.

As a designer and someone who has worked in the showroom sales environment, I learned early the importance of relationships with my local reps. They are the true source in being able to connect directly to the products needed or appropriate technical questions to be answered. I have made it part of my work as an independent designer to introduce my fellow independent designers to our local product representation so they too can get a main line for product information and updates and have a better network for when the inevitable project issue arises. It is all about who you know and the strength of these relationships. People want to help people.

I've learned from our previous project the importance of having a backup plan for continuous materials delivery. We maintain a network of accredited suppliers who can step in during sudden design changes. While loyalty to certain suppliers is valuable, it's also wise to have alternatives available for situations like these.

Direct and quick dialogues with vendors to meet the re calibrated design requirements is the best way to control the situation. Also a comfort of good relationship with vendors helps in such knee jerk scenario of the project. Further the provisions of cost and time over run will help in keeping good control of the project targets. I have resolved similar cases in my PM experiences.
