However, that needs to be balanced with he need continue to produce high quality turf that performs to the highest level. Managing plant health through nutrient inputs is key, as is managing the soil environment to remove the potential habitats for fungal pathogens to grow when not actively infecting plant tissues. One of the most important maintenance practices is promoting dry plant surfaces as fungal pathogens typically need the surfaces they are infecting to be moist. A dry surface is one that is harder for disease to infect and spread.
