Patience & intelligence are key during any risk / response management phase. The strategies, though, are fairly simple: 1. An instant reaction makes a brand look guilty - take time, work it out with stakeholders, listen to trustworthy opinions, get multiple approvals for the response, LISTEN TO YOUR LEGAL & PR TEAM! 2. Put your customers through the litmus test and reward those who are loyal - if they stay in hard times, they stay forever. 3. Come back stronger - resilience is not enough today, use this to grow, and ensure you weed out any troublemakers in the process.

Think about hiring brand ambassadors or influencers who will help in spreading the truth. Also keep a close eye on what is happening and shift strategies accordingly.
