Introducing a novel data architecture can be daunting, especially when facing skepticism. To turn the tide:
- Involve the team early on by seeking their input and addressing concerns transparently.
- Demonstrate value with case studies or pilots showing tangible benefits of the new approach.
- Offer training and resources to ease the transition and empower your team with new skills.
How have you successfully navigated pushback in your organization?

In my experience, bringing in the change management process early in the phase is very important. People need to be bought in and feel valued about the architecture we are trying to implement. So there contribution is important. Plus we are making them owners of the process than blind followers.

I would take the following steps: Communicate the Vision: I previously led a customer MDM transformation for a major financial client, which secured USD 30M in funding for data cleansing initiatives. Highlighting this success can demonstrate the potential impact of the new strategy. Involve the Team Early: When developing a master data management strategy for an automobile financing organization, I identified over ten use cases by collaborating with the team. This inclusive approach can foster ownership and reduce resistance. Show Quick Wins: I designed an innovative analytics strategy for a healthcare payer that unlocked USD 90–135M in value through advanced analytics. Sharing quick wins helped illustrate the strategy’s effectiveness.
