Marketing has a belief in the "tried and true". The challenge with this is that it causes marketing to be slow to adapt and support your prospects. If you look at Uber, they don't own one car. VRBO does not own one property. Amazon has not written one book. These are disrupters, and they cause everyone around them to change. Ask your marketing team how many cell phones they have owned over their lifetime. I definitely am not a trend follower, yet I "think" I've had 13 cell phones. Why? Because things have changed, and I wanted to be more efficient. Buyers also want to be more efficient, and the way they have made decisions in the past no longer works.

Winning over your marketing team to agile methodologies requires understanding their concerns and demonstrating value. Start by addressing their fears—whether it’s uncertainty, workload, or creative flexibility. Show how agile enhances collaboration, speeds up execution, and allows for real-time adjustments based on data. Start small with pilot projects to showcase quick wins. Involve them in the process, ensuring they have a voice in shaping workflows. Highlight success stories from other marketing teams that have benefited from agile. Most importantly, make the transition gradual and supportive. Thanks Shawn #agilemarketing #teamalignment

Include them in developing the process. Get them invested, wanting to feel ownership of results. Work side by side, you show a success is a group effort!
