You're facing pushback from IT teams on database optimization. How do you overcome their resistance?
Resistance from IT teams is not uncommon, but with the right approach, you can turn opposition into collaboration. To ease the transition:
- Engage in open dialogue. Understand their concerns and address them directly.
- Present clear benefits. Show how optimization improves efficiency and reduces workload.
- Offer training and support. Ensure they feel equipped to handle the new system.

When IT teams are hesitant about optimizing the database, it's important to work together in a way that shows we're all on the same team. The first step is to listen to their worries and thoughts. By understanding why they're hesitant, we can find ways to meet in the middle and come up with a solution that works well for everyone.

To overcome resistance from IT teams on database optimization, I would first focus on clear communication, emphasizing the long-term benefits such as improved performance, reduced costs, and better scalability. Engaging the team early in the process, addressing their concerns, and providing data-backed examples of successful optimizations can help. Collaborative problem-solving and aligning the optimization goals with overall business objectives would foster a more cooperative approach.

1- Talk their langage. Communication is the key 2- Highlight benefits: Emphasize how optimization improves performance and reduces costs. 3- Involve them early: Engage IT teams in the planning process to get their input and buy-in. It is PM's role 4- Show quick wins: Implement small changes that demonstrate immediate improvements. 5- Offer support: Provide resources and training to help them adapt to new optimizations.

O diálogo é sempre a melhor op??o. Explicar os pontos de melhorias e onde as otimiza??es far?o com que o sistema opere mais tranquilo e com menos gargalos. As equipes precisam atuar em conjunto para que a organiza??o flua melhor.

To achieve effective database optimization, there must be close collaboration between the application owner, developer, and database administrator. In my past experience with various database optimization projects, I have found that when all parties are involved, we consistently achieve outstanding results. For example, in one project, jobs that were running continuously on a single processor were reduced to nearly zero by changing the job frequency from every minute to once per hour. This discussion among the various parties led to a successful solution. ??
