Stakeholder resistance — the spice of organisational life! First, launch a Listening Tour where you nod, take notes, and occasionally say, “I hear you.” Then, send out a memo titled "Your Feedback Matters" to create the illusion of collaboration. For the grand finale, host a workshop called “Embracing the Inevitable” with team-building exercises that mysteriously reinforce the original plan. Resistance? Handled.

When any change is announced, you are engagibg wiry the emotional, not rational cebters of the brain. In this initial period, focus on helping your teams process the change, ask questions, get answers, speak their mind, all in service of getting then to assume posiruve intent - to understabd that what brought the change isnt intended to hurt or offend them. This is typically a good time to be very transparent and authentic. Share where you are on the process. Share things you dont know or “need to investigate” or “need to better understand”, all the while aligning it to a sense of tempered optimism.
