This can be a very tricky problem, but more often than not, it requires increasing communication in order to increase cooperation and collaboration. Here a few simple things to ask yourself or actions to take: 1. Am I just sitting back and waiting for a better relationship or am I being proactive enough? (lean toward proactive steps). 2. How well do they understand my needs and how well do I understand theirs? 3. What do I know about them? If not much, find ways to get to know them in social settings (Break room, lunch, stopping by and not talking work, etc). 5. How much do people understand your personal brand? My strengths and passions? We often need to take more intentional steps to allow others to see us a bit more.
