First, extend a disinterested interviewer the benefit of the doubt - it's prob not about you, but about some other issue they have pressing on them. 2nd, interviewers need recognition too! You can start by researching them & in your opening make a personal connection on some interests or experiences that you share. Show them you know them & care! You can also ask them if they are ok. If you have some empathy skill, you can try naming the elephant in the room (usually an emotion) with - "busy day?" "is now still a good time?" "Interviewing is nuts, isn't it?" Overall, recognize that distraction is the name of the game today - and give them a safe place to express it. Just that emotional expertise could make the difference in standing out!
