I think the reaction depends on the reason for the delay. Other transportation options also depend on the product being transported. I think more than one thing needs to be known to answer this question. What the transported goods are, size, weight, reason for the delay, route followed, etc. .... Providing correct information in time will reduce negative impact on our cnees. When shipment is booked cnee recieves ETA, they know that this date can change, so the most important thing is to let them know about delays in time, providing the reason for the same delay. You can also offer some alternatives, eg. tranposrting by road or air in case of emergency and considering the costs.
