I faced this situation this week for mobile app automation with developers. Our app is built using React native, we as QE wanted to use Appium for automation whereas Dev's wanted us to use Detox. I suggested having a working session where the dev can automate a simple use case using detox and we can do the same using Appium. The session helped Dev's to understand the need and why detox won't be useful as it doesn't support iOS real devices.
