Conduct Thorough Research: Gather comprehensive feedback through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews to understand the needs and pain points of each user group.

When dealing with different design preferences from various user groups, finding common ground starts with gathering feedback. Use surveys or interviews to learn about each group’s needs and priorities. Look for overlapping preferences and key features that are important to everyone. Hold workshops or meetings where representatives from each group can share their thoughts and brainstorm solutions together. Aim to create a design that balances everyone's needs while keeping essential functions in mind. Share prototypes with all groups for their feedback and be open to making changes based on their suggestions. By encouraging open communication and teamwork, you can develop a design that meets the needs of all users.

In most cases users care more about features than about the design of the system. Even it's nice to hear users' suggestions about the system design, ultimately it's the development team's job to come up with the right design. When gathering feedbacks, try to understand the goals of the users (the why), and come up with the design (the how) that satisfies these goals. If you cannot satisfy all the goals, prioritize between the goals by balancing between urgency and importance of these goals, and come up with a shorter feature list for your next milestone.
