From my experience running a software company, I’ve learned that short-term targets, like client deadlines or fixing critical issues, often take priority because they keep the business running smoothly. However, I make sure to dedicate time regularly for long-term growth, like improving our processes or exploring new markets. Balancing both is key—handling immediate needs while ensuring the long-term vision stays on track. This way, you don’t compromise future success for today’s pressures.

The real danger is over-prioritizing short-term targets at the expense of long-term growth. Sure, deadlines matter, but if you're always playing whack-a-mole with urgent tasks, your future growth will suffer. Steve Jobs once said, "If you keep your eye on the profit, you’re going to skimp on the product." Prioritize long-term vision over short-term pressures. Successful businesses grow by strategically saying "no" to the urgent in favor of the important. Think big and stay the course.

When you have a lot to do, first do the things that need to be done right away... make a list of works to be done... do one thing at a time... do not multi-task... as it decreases your productivity... or divide time between various tasks... focus on tasks that you can finish quickly... and soon you’ll reach bigger goals...
