Resolving conflict with a manager starts with understanding, not reacting. I’d take a step back and assess the root cause—was it a communication gap, unmet expectations, or differing perspectives? Then, I’d schedule a calm, private conversation, focusing on “we” instead of “me” to promote collaboration. I’d express my views respectfully, using facts rather than emotions, and actively listen to their concerns. Suggesting solutions rather than just highlighting problems shows initiative and respect. Building bridges with empathy and clarity often transforms conflicts into stronger working relationships.

Have a meeting and discuss my shortcomings . Discuss the problems and ways to resolve them. Then write down what we have discussed and agreed on

To resolve conflict with your manager, communicate openly and calmly. Focus on understanding their perspective while expressing your concerns respectfully. Use "I" statements to avoid blame and propose solutions that benefit both sides. Seek common ground, remain professional, and, if needed, involve HR or a neutral mediator for support.

Do not fly off the handle guns blazing. Step back and assess and reflect on the situation. Then ask for a meeting when appropriate. If the situation is not resolved go higher up the chain or to HR. If that still does nothing and by this time you are probably already looking for another role, then you rock on out of their with your head held high. You will be another managers star player!
