Uma experiência muito positiva, é a sobreposi??o de turnos,onde apenas alguns minutos s?o suficientes para ter uma passagem homem a homem eficaz. Os ganhos com a sobreposi??o s?o enormes e o ganho para gest?o é maior ainda ,devido aos desvios de comunica??o serem levados a zero.

This can be achieved by creating detailed reports that cover the status of ongoing tasks, any issues encountered, and the actions required by the incoming team. It's important to standardize these reports so that they are easy to understand and use by everyone.

There are a couple of ways this can be achieved. 1- Create or maintain a standardized record list of actions or completed jobs to be handed over to the next shift. 2- Have the shift supervisor overlap with the earlier shift to go through the summary of what was done or completed and what are the expectations for the following shift. Communication assures continuity in performance and saves time.

From my point of view you may overcome communcation problems by visualization and moderation. Important is to demonstrate, that you are seriously working to sort up any misscommunication. Most of problems are not created due to production people, but all central services. It might help to involve all parties like purchasing, logistics, R&D, Quality to be responsible to moderate the overhand of shifts and to put to their responsibility to sort up those daily findings. Every involved partie has a different point of view on problems- to confrontade all different ones may support to find an optimum and give even all parties the option to speak face to face and improve communication- not only related to the parties of two shifts.

IoT can play a vital role in simplifying the overall production and maintenance control activities by making its control accessible at shop floor to the shift supervisor and its dashboard visible to entire shop floor. Internet connected devices cannot only provide real time update but also can help in auto scheduling maintenance, remote fixing, arranging spares, tools and experts in advance to avoid breakdowns. There are limitless possibilities in digital world. However, overlapping shifts along with shift logs (maintained by shift team) are still the most traditional and popular method in the mechanical industries and production shops.

During my shift supervisor days, it was most important to arrive at least 1hr early and talk directly to the prior shift machine operators and gather feedback, surprising what was missing in the log book entry

Not just who should report what and when, but also to whom it is to be communicated. One great accountability measure that I was part of implementing, had the supervisors from each department go around once per week, to the communication log books we had at every station in every department. This created accountability with the employees, and between supervisors. It also built the trust of the shop floor as they saw that supervisors were holding each other accountable, and not just the employees. That transparency lead to improved shop wide communication, reduced turn over, improved morale, to name a few. It also disappeared the resentment that had been building between supervisors from other departments.

My opinion is Empower leadership by:Providing regular training.Defining clear roles.Ensuring access to real-time data.Granting decision-making authority.Establishing support networks.Offering performance feedback.Recognizing and rewarding effective leadership.

Assign dedicated shift supervisors or team leads responsible for overseeing the handover process and following communication protocols. Encourage management to regularly review communication practices and engage with shift workers to understand their challenges.

Leadership is the tip of the spear when it comes to communication. All the other suggestions including communication and hand-off are great, but does no good if there isn't someone in leadership to implement the plan and make sure it stays on track. Multiple shifts, multiple leaders, multiple foreman, all require a delicate dance of communication and notes to stay on track. We tried electronic tracking like Teams or Notes. Honestly at the end of the day, a simple note or better yet a 5 minute hand-off meeting worked best.

Explore additional measures such as cross-training employees across shifts to enhance flexibility, conducting periodic audits of communication protocols, or holding regular team meetings to discuss challenges and improvements in communication processes. Adapt strategies based on specific production needs and feedback from frontline staff to continually refine and optimize communication practices.

Consider the whole team to work together for the same target. sometimes i single person can reduce the production. Communication at the begging of the shift to make sure that every single person on the production floor have the same number.
