Hold team meetings to address concerns, share updates, and encourage open dialogue about the changes. Reinforce the team's value by highlighting their contributions and how they align with the organization's goals. Foster a positive environment by recognizing achievements, both big and small, to boost morale. Additionally, involve team members in decision-making processes where appropriate, empowering them to take ownership and feel more invested in the transition. "Change is inevitable. Growth is optional." – John C. Maxwell Leadership transitions can feel daunting, but they’re also opportunities for growth. To keep your team motivated and productive, transparency is key. Communicate openly about the changes to reduce uncertainty and build trust. Empower your team by encouraging feedback, allowing them to express concerns and feel valued. Reinforce the company’s vision and goals, providing them roadmaps as to how their contribution or career journeys will evolve during this phase, ensuring that everyone stays aligned with the bigger picture. Additionally, recognize and celebrate small wins during the transition—acknowledgment goes a long way in maintaining morale.

Quite often, we equate changes in leadership = "I am going to be let go of". So first thing first, do not make assumptions, rather stay open to new information and in learning mode. Be transparent with your team while gathering data and information about your area of expertise, and how you and your team contribute to the growth of the company - preparing yourself to step up and pitch to your new management, i.e. staying proactive and showing them you want to be part of the change rather than an obstacle to it.
