Most important factor for me personally is to see how you would not get into this situation. Make sure you do enough research prior to joining the company that they are a Lean/Six sigma focused organisation, successful Lean Six Sigma transformations to a large extent depends on the support from the company. This has to be your critical success factor as this will ensure there is no dearth of challenges to make your job exciting and the support you will receive to address them.

Always remember: - Lean is about “Gemba” so if you’re out in the field looking and engaging with the team members then something will happen especially if you ask and listen to those members - Lean is about taking “baby steps” in improvement so don’t be discouraged if you’re only feeling small wins - Lean is about “respect for people” so never forget to thank members for they do and what they share and let them know they make a difference These things should help you to “never give up”
