Additionally evaluate their process capabilities and validate the same. Ensure the proper root cause identified and Corrective actions taken analysed through 5 WHY, 3M, 8D, and again evaluate it's effectiveness as required.

First, all the component used for a product surely have its own spec, whether electrical, mechanical, stress/ strain, flammability, performance etc. Make sure that the specs of the new component meets, then, check with the supplier its availability, costs and deliverance. Afterwards, check/request its certification, whether it meets the safety standard requirements, compositions or other requirements needed. The said component must comply with all these criteria so that the error or issues shall be reduce during the production stage.

Once you're comfortable with the supplier's qualifications, request samples of the components you'll be using. Test these samples rigorously against your project's requirements.
