I like Jeff Bezos' 70% rule: be ready to act when you have 70% of the data you think you need. Waiting for 90%+ means you're going to be too slow in making decisions. Combine that "just enough" data with gut/intuition.

I agree. Each is useful. Intuition and data. But for different purposes. I think a lot of people get it backwards. Intuition is used to make “yes” decisions, and data is used for “no”. Example: I intuitively TRUST everyone and give them the benefit of the doubt, unless I have a reason (DATA), not to!

For me, success depends on a blend of both intuition and data. As the co-founder of OBO, sometimes I need to go with my gut when making decisions. Although there is risk involved in that, no one knows your business better than you do - obviously, it wouldn’t be smart to take this approach with everything, but there is a time and a place for this (i.e. when you’re interviewing someone and just know they’re going to be a great fit). As an entrepreneur, I know I also need to rely on data in order to scale my business, particularly when it comes to our sales strategy and defining goals/KPIs. Leaning on historical data is one of the best ways to forecast your future state. Point is - you eventually learn when to lean on yourself vs data.
