You're faced with multiple machinery malfunctions. How can you efficiently troubleshoot to save time?

Okay, so we've got a bunch of machines acting up. First thing's first, we need to figure out exactly what's wrong with each one. Let's walk around and check them all out. Look for any obvious problems like broken parts or strange noises. We should also talk to the people who were using the machines to see if they noticed anything weird. Once we know what's wrong with each machine, we can start figuring out how to fix them.

I always build in redundancy, so we have a VMC, 2 x turning centres, a manual lathe and a water jet cutter. We can move manufacturing on almost everything we do from one machine to another bar a couple of bits. I made sure that each machine we bought used the same operating system so all of the CNC's apart from the water jet cutter can have the programs loaded to another machine. I also bought from a local machine supplier, 16 miles away who I have a great relationship with. If I was desperate for something, they have allowed me to go down with a bit of material and a USB stick, load the program on their demo unit and make the parts I needed. We do the same with vehicles, we always have 3 or 4 more than we need.

Skils and knowledge about machines,equipments tools,data are being upgraded daily. To be effective and competent, there is need for training to upgrade,an effecent mechnanic technician must grow with new upgrades of equipments and repair kits and tools.
