If client requests delay completion, tell them of potential consequences and delays before you begin the work to satisfy their directives. They will make the final decision then whether or not to proceed. If you are given the green light to move forward, consider this a progress step toward customer/client satisfaction. They are in charge here...

1. Evaluate how the changes affect the timeline, budget, and resources. 2. Discuss the implications with the client, including potential delays or costs. 3. Focus on changes that add significant value or are critical to the client. 4. Ensure all changes are formally approved and documented to avoid scope creep. 5. Update the project plan and communicate new timelines to the team.

Navigating last-minute design changes near project completion requires a mix of adaptability, clear communication, and resource management. Start by understanding the client's requests fully and identifying their core priorities. Assess the impact of the changes on the timeline, budget, and scope, and communicate these implications transparently. Offer practical solutions or compromises to meet client expectations without jeopardizing the project's integrity. Maintain a positive attitude, emphasizing collaboration and problem-solving. If possible, document the changes and secure client approval for accountability. By staying proactive and organized, you can turn late-stage revisions into an opportunity to exceed client expectations.

??Last minute design changes normally comes with its own consequences when the requests are made. ??There must be a valid reasoning for this to be completed, clear clarification and understanding must be reached amongst client, designer and contractor. ??Depending on the nature of the work and complexity of the requests formal documentation to be followed through to reflect the change. ??For more complex type of requests this will very likely result in additional work and additional time allocation but again depending of the nature of the changes and type of work to be carried out! ??It’s important that change is briefed to all involved staff and discussed how will it affect the previously planned programme of works.
