Sometimes coaching clients want to be told what to do in a situation, so can feel that coaching isn’t giving them what they want as it’s not prescriptive. It’s important to set expectations before the coaching starts. Helping the client to understand what coaching is and isn’t. It can be helpful to explain outcomes from other clients in a way that clearly demonstrates the insights the client gained from exploring options in partnership with the coach.

In this delicate situation, it's crucial to clarify your expertise without coming across as arrogant. Discuss your qualifications, experience, and the successful outcomes you've achieved for other clients. Use specific examples that are relevant to the client's goals and concerns.
