Given how AI is overly used these days, most people don’t/can’t grasp how AI works. I’ve learnt that the best way is to use everyday analogies that they can relate to. For example when explaining why we require data for training, I like to use the analogy of teaching a toddler to identify a dog. They may begin to identify all 4-legged animals as dogs till you teach them the difference between cats and dogs. And they can’t differentiate different breeds of dogs till you teach them how to identify the differences.

Whenever explaining to non-tech audience make sure to not use jargons or terms which they won't understand Keep it simple and discuss the metrics which have improved by incorporating AI For example: Talk about the topline or the bottom-line improvements after using an AI model/algorithm.
