Dentro de las características más importantes de un analista GIS se encuentra su capacidad de mostrar resultados, de nada sirve un dato que no es comprensible ante personas que no son técnicos de área. I would say GIS is much more than just data. It requires a creative mind to visualize that data, that not only represents the data but also highlight the "TO BE SEEN" part. Its about visualizing your thoughts and finding that say a lot graphically or using maps

One prince can not be a king of too many kingdoms. Similarly its impossible for being a master of everything in GIS. It's a very diverse field. By team work, and doing the work you are master at, can lower the work load of all the members and the task can be achived real quick.

It is important to consider which skills are missing from your existing team that are likely to be needed during the course of a project. That said, look for candidates who have demonstrated the ability to be agile and acquire new skills, as these can always be taught, if necessary. Ideally skillsets within the team should be complementary to each other, though they may overlap. Some people prefer detailed work e.g. data maintenance or scripting, others more broad e.g. strategic thinking or project management. Everyone has different strengths.
