It may seem like a dated approach but I build a spreadsheet to track the activities associated with the job search. I also keep a notebook chronicling all my actions and conversations with managers, recruiters, talent acquisitions folk and anyone I have done an information interview with. You can only focus on a few employers at a time. Firing off 100 applications and trying to play the odds doesn't work. Do less but do it better.
