You're drowning in deadlines. How can you stay focused and motivated to write?

Prioritizing tasks keeps you organized and focused. Breakdown of my strategy to prioritize tasks: 1. Keep urgent and important tasks on top. 2. Start with the lengthier project. Get certain parts of it done, and then move to a small period. 3. Get back to the big project and give a finishing touch. This approach has been helping me since my early freelance writing career.

Prioritizing tasks is big, but the next filter that should be used is what the SIZE of the task is. Closer deadlines go to the top of the list but smaller tasks move above larger tasks. Get the small stuff done first so more time and energy can be devoted to larger tasks.

When you are feeling stressed with too many deadlines, break your work into smaller pieces and do them one at a time. Focus on what's most important first, and take quick breaks to recharge. Think about why your work is meaningful and treat yourself after completing each step. Keeping a positive attitude and staying organised will help you stay focused.

Absolutely! Milestone helps to avoid energy drain. For instance, I set a 4000-5000 word count for a day. This helps me get more done, and it doesn't feel burdening too! When you set a milestone, you're feeding your subconscious to stay organized when your conscious goes off.

I never thought to create a milestone and after reading this, maybe I should. Usually when I sit to wrote, I just write, not giving notice to the word count or timing which makes me a little flustered because I'm in a flow but know in my mind, I have other tasks to accomplish. It can be a little overwhelming. So now I'm figuring, I should set a milestone with a timeframe. Maybe that will help me not to become frustrated but motivated to do it again at another time. We shall see.

This is my favorite thing. My clients, friends, family, and everyone understands how routine is holistic to me! Routine gives you an edge over many who are accustomed to getting things done haphazardly. Routine is the keen step towards making yourself disciplined to achieve long-term results. Make sure you don't overdo it!

I stated in an earlier contribution that I took night time as my moment for writing. Setting the tone and focusing was the goal until recently. My sleeping patterns along with daytime distractions has been a devastating to my routine. So I adopted a daytime routine which involves, walks in the sun, morning tea with my favorite morning treat...pumpkin loaf bread, and trips to the either a café or library. It's not everyday. However, when it is, my day is set and filled with accomplishing the other tasks for the day. So when evening falls, I'm now in the mood to relax, journal, and probably make a task list for the next day or week.

Las distracciones forman parte del mundo actual, están alrededor nuestro la mayor parte del día. Desde mi experiencia intentando lidiar con ellas en lo cotidiano, es de mucha utilidad lograr una vez al día un momento de meditación / atención plena, ello permite callar nuestra mente, nos brinda un momento de desconexión que a su vez nos ayudará en el momento que decidamos evitar las interrupciones. Cuando se incursiona en la Meditación en cualquiera de sus formas, luego es mucho mas sencillo focalizar cuando se dispone a ejecutar una tarea determinada, en este caso la escritura.

Selbstfürsorge ist in der Tat sehr wichtig. Dazu geh?rt auch anzuerkennen, wenn es mal nicht so l?uft. Vielleicht hilft es schon einen Moment die Augen zu schlie?en und in sich hineinzuh?ren. Vielleicht stellt man dann fest: da ist heute so viel Chaos oder Unruhe oder Müdigkeit in mir, dass ich nicht so funktioniere wie sonst. Und dann ist es besser das Gefühl anzunehmen, ihm Raum zu geben und auf sich selbst zu h?ren, als die eigenen Gefühle zu übergehen. Man kann nicht jeden Tag gleich produktiv und leistungsstark sein. Also an manchen Tagen einfach annehmen, dass es nicht so l?uft und am n?chsten Tag geht es dann mit Power weiter.

La escritura demanda una gran actividad mental/cerebral. Para asegurar productividad es importante hacer foco en el cuidado del cerebro y la salud mental, asegurando una alimentación genuina y consciente que brinde los nutrientes necesarios para que el cerebro trabaje correctamente e incorporando una rutina de actividad física y respiración consciente que gestionen el estrés que se desencadena a diario. La correcta alimentación y gestión del estrés influyen a su vez en el descanso favoreciéndolo y todo esto impacta de manera positiva en la productividad.

This works every single time. For example, I'll put off watching videos on Youtube or scrolling on Instagram until I am done writing a particular draft or if I have made significant progress on it. It makes me focus in the time block, and makes the process an exciting one knowing there's a reward at the end of the tunnel. Yes, writing can be an emotional process sometimes but our feelings don't write, we do! Remember to invite discipline to sit at the table when writing alone with your creativity ??

My favorite part of the process. After every task, I give myself an hour or two to do my favorite things like podcast, cricket and football highlights, TV show episodes, and more. I learned this approach from Neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Haberman!
