You're in a Culture Change career. How can you use resilience and adaptability to drive innovation?

Para mi es muy importante admirar los lideres de la organización, tener apoyo para aprender y adaptarme, es importante que haya coherencia desde como se lidera con el ejemplo y que quien te de feedback sea un referente, este en capacidad de ense?ar y de inspirar, de lo contrario sin motivación, reconocimiento y apoyo por mas resiliente que se quiera ser la capacidad de innovar e inspirar a tu mismo equipo no será viable.

In this day and age, having resiliency is almost a necessity due to all the changes and chaos happening in our lives and in the world. Resiliency often stems from going through challenging experiences BUT you can also be proactive and learn skills that will help you to navigate through crisis. One of the biggest tools is probably seeing things from a much broader perspective.

No creo que exista una mejor forma de poner en evidencia la importancia de ser resilientes que la experiencia que vivimos a nivel global durante el COVID. Podríamos decir que es la capacidad de "resistir" o "aguantar" o "soportar", sin embargo pienso que un sinónimo más apropiado sería "adaptarse" y la capacidad de adaptación a su vez es históricamente la característica más importante que tenemos en nuestro planeta para sobrevivir!

I would lead by example, showcasing enthusiasm for innovation and creating a culture where new ideas are embraced. Aligning performance with recognition, I'd foster behaviors essential to an innovative culture, where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. Egos would have no place, and good ideas from any source would be valued and credited. I'd prioritize resilience by supporting my team in taking risks, knowing I have their backs.

When change efforts are not going well often one of two factors are a primary cause. First the context (The What and Why) of the change has not been shared or articulated in a manner that is relatable to each affected team. Operations people need to see how it ultimately helps working success, while management needs to understand how it reduces risk and improves profitability. Second the design of the change may not account for operational or informational needs. For example a call center may not understand why the field may need certain information to efficiently perform their functions. Both scenarios require listening and the humility to acknowledge the issues and make appropriate adjustments.

Para poder adaptarnos el primer paso es tener la mente abierta, es ejercitar nuestra curiosidad, también es aprender proactivamente. Pienso que esta es una cualidad que tienen las personas con alto potencial para las compa?ías, no es posible la evolución de una persona y por ende de su entorno si no existe la curiosidad y el aprendizaje activo, definitivamente una competencia que debemos atesorar y desarrollar.

In my experience, being adaptable allows individuals and organizations to adjust their strategies, processes, and behaviors to meet evolving demands and the continuous culture of change. This flexibility enables them to navigate uncertainty and embrace change more effectively. Adoptability as well fosters a mindset of innovation and experimentation. When people are open to trying new approaches and learning from failures, they can discover novel solutions and opportunities going forward.

la Innovación con I mayúscula es uno de los atributos que yo considero de gran valor. Una empresa innovadora no puede ser innovadora si dentro de su cultura no existen las prácticas adecuadas. Esas prácticas son las que promovemos desde la cabeza, y dentro de estas prácticas, basándome en mis propias experiencias, pienso que lo más crítico está en desterrar el miedo al error, generando, por el contrario, una cultura de aprendizaje. No existe mayor y mejor experiencia que nos haga más fuertes e innovadores, que aprender de nuestros errores.

I would also add that having a vision or strong desire for where you want to go with your career and life helps a lot! And understand that the road there is NEVER straight! It's a very curvy bumpy road full of surprised but when you know where you want to end up, the chances of you arriving are much better!
