Learn more than one language. Show some grit and get way past the basics to intermediate level in each. This will be hard work (at least in some languages) Do this for at least 3 or 4 languages/paradigms (get to intermediate level). Then figure out which one you are naturally good at. Develop your natural propensity to a deep expert level. Deliver projects, work in teams, and teach it. ..and then some more. Now revisit the languages/paradigms that did not make YOUR cut with a mature you looking at it. Be the best mature you, in the paradigm you choose, without being welded to it.

Starting with system development? Here’s my take: First, get really good at a programming language like C#, Java, or Python. Then, see what tools and solutions are already out there so you don't do extra work. It's also super important to really understand what the system needs and to think about what the people using it will need, not just the tech stuff.A common mistake is to focus too much on either just the tech part or just the problem you're trying to solve. From my years of doing this, I’ve learned that finding a good balance between knowing your tech and understanding the system well is what really leads to great results.Also visualising the big picture is important.

I see domain more in the sense o business domain. To be a good system developer you need to understand the business the system will be used for.

After basics, it would be easy for you to work in any domain. But you must have one specialty as well. Like for example I am a specialist in Android development but I can also work in Spring Boot, Django, or DotNet.

Keep on working and building solutions and make sure you build a strong portfolio. Your portfolio should contain your best work.
